HEALTH CARE AND FIRST AID PROGRAM
ImageThis Program places volunteers in health posts, sub health posts and health clinics. You work in either an urban or rural setting, providing primary care to locals in your specialty. Moreover, if you have doubts about whether your skills and talents are really needed in this part of the world, consider this: The doctor-patient ratio in Nepal is about 1 to 36,000. Particularly in rural areas, The rapid rate of urbanization during the past two decades has created unprecedented pressure on Kathmandu, Pokhara, Biratnagar and a number of major cities. Apart from the obvious health issues, the main problems are inadequate infrastructure and services, increase in slum and squatter settlements.  In rural villages the health system is getting poor due to understaffed, inadequate infrastructure, services in community health clinics. Most of the skilled staffed don’t want to be stationed there due to the lack of resources, pubic awareness, transport etc. There are some rural clinics where an office assistant who does not have any medical education and training are checking patients, prescribing medicine that brings some times a havoc situation.

We are placing volunteers in these needy places where your help may need more and in return you will also experience something new for your further education. Depending on your specialization and education you will assist local health staff in their day to day work like checking patients, checking blood pressure, dressing normal injury etc. You will be working 5 hours a day, 6 days a week.
