ORPHANAGE ASSISTANT (CHILD CARE)
ImageEach year, hundreds of children leave poor villages to find work in cities. The ILO estimates that 2.60 million children in Nepal are involved in varied economic activities. Among them, many are working in dangerous circumstances, at times with even their young lives at risk. Often these children are deprived of their most basic rights, including the right to education. Most of children are abandoned at an early age, from all regions. As a result, most of these needy children are deprived of education and find work as child laborers in restaurants, factories, hotels, slaves, and as trash collector. These disadvantaged children need attention, love, care, and the opportunity to further their education.

As a volunteer in our Child Care Program, you will be working with children home. You will be helping children to go school and get them back to home. You will also be involved in teaching English and other extra curricular in the school where your orphanage kids go.

Volunteers on this project will be working to promote positive educational, social, and health-related changes for orphanage children. You will be assisting them in doing homework from school, teaching singing, dancing, playing games, painting, drawing etc. Sometimes you will take them to picnic, zoo, fun world, swimming etc.

As a volunteer you will be:
  • Ensuring attendance by area children to the center
  • Giving personal attention to all children
  • Assisting local orphanage homes in producing report, manual, websites etc.
  • Preparing and helping feed nutritious meals to the children
